Dissociation of Red Blood Cells under extension stress

Midhun PUTHUMANA MELEPATTU

Project description

Using microfluidics and image processing, the project examines the response of RBC aggregates towards a less studied stress called extension stress. The project incorporates experimental as well as machine learning techniques to quantify the dissociation of RBC clusters in the context of microcirculatory network mechanics. The study further explores the rheological consequence of such dissociations on the viscosity of the blood.
