Instrumented Ultrafiltration Cells for SAXS

Instrumented ultrafiltration cells, along with the setup enabling their integration on the ESRF or Synchrotron Soleil beamlines, have been developed. These cells have allowed in situ small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) measurements during the filtration process, as well as characterization by SALS on the light-scattering bench available at LRP.

The cells enable in situ characterization of concentration profiles and particle structuring near the membranes. In addition, spatial-temporal evolutions of induced velocity fields under various simultaneous or separate stimuli (shear, ultrasound, transmembrane pressure, UV crosslinking) have been studied using SAXS, SALS, and micro-PIV.
